magnolia loebneri massy rose © 2013'Massey Rose' is a compact, deciduous shrub producing fragrant, rich pink, star-like shaped flowers. It will flower from an early age. 'Massey Rose' is frost, drought and wind tender but copes quite well in colder locations.

Origin: East Asia

Also known as Merrill Magnolia, this selection boasts extremely pretty pure white flowers. The profuse floral display covers the tree in early spring. This is a quite slow growing selection, and will reach a maximum height of 5m, making it ideal for a small garden. Magnolia x loebneri Merrill thrives best in free draining soils and will tolerate lime.

Of the same parentage as popular favourites 'Athene' and 'Milky Way', this hybrid has exquisite, large pure cream flowers which resemble the lotus flower after which it is named. Flowering is mid-season. ‘Lotus’ matures into an upright pyramidal tree to approximately 5m.

Magnolia x Manchu Fan An upright, deciduous tree with masses of goblet-shaped flowers during spring. Flowers are white, flushed with dark pink at the base of the outer petals. ‘Manchu Fan’ prefers a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Cover the soil with mulch after planting to keep the root zone cool. A magnificent specimen tree suitable for the smaller garden.

A newer hybrid with rich pink flowers on a tree to a height of 6m.

Origin: New Zealand

Gorgeous white flowers with pink at their base. Many blooms are produced, even on young plants. Pyramidal growth.

A large shrub or small tree reaching up to 10m in height. The up turned blooms open to a lovely saucer shape, appearing in late winter and spring. Flowers are a deep pink to magenta in colour.

A stunning variety featuring tulip-shaped flowers in deep lavender-red, with inner tones of white flushed lavender. A superb deciduous shrub which will reach approximately 4 metres in height. Flowers are produced whilst the plant is relatively young.

Considered a jewel amongst the hybrid Campbell Magnolias. Beautiful flowers are pink on the outside and white within. The buds first open to a rounded flower form and then take on a lotus flower shape as they mature. A fast growing variety when young but growth slows as the plant matures. Reaches a height of 6-8m.

A small deciduous tree with large glossy green leaves. Brilliant large purple flowers appear in late winter and spring before the leaves. The colour of the flower contrasts well with the dark branches. This magnolia adds stunning early spring colour to your garden.
