Perennials, Bulbs & Bamboo

pleioblastus chrysophyllus ©This one has golden leaves but lacks any darker green striping. A beautiful bamboo to brighten a shady spot. The bottom of the leaves are covered with fine hairs making it very resistant to bamboo mite. 

Origin: Asia

pleioblastus ©Also known as the dwarf fern-leaf bamboo or pygmy bamboo. A lovely ornamental selection that grows well in an average soil with good drainage. A shaded to semi-shaded spot is preferred. Will form large patches if left unattended.

pleioblastus viridistriatus ©Also known as golden bamboo. Variegated leaves of green and gold in a pattern of stripes. A running bamboo that may need to be controlled underground with barriers. Fast growing and generally problem free.

Podophyllum delavayiA Perennial with variegated Green and Purple foilage and red Flowers. Growing about 1 meter in its mature state. 

Podophyllum delavayi x versipelle Podophyllum Versipelle is a truly unique woodlander, new growth has distinct lobed leafs which are ochre velvet with striking patterns. very broad round and lobed leaves shield the red lantern flowers beneath. Best if given moisture in well drained soil, flowering spring - summer.

Origin: Japan and China

Podophyllum PeltatumCommonly known as May-Apple, this large leafed perennial, growing to about 1 meter in it's maturer state. Peltatum is a great addtion to your garden if you need to fill that dark, shadey spot that you have in your garden. Flowering late summer to Autumn.

Podophyllum PleianthumChinese May Apple is a perennial, with burgundy-red flowers in late spring and summer. with it hugh leafs and lush green foilage, it makes a woodlands garden plant or just specimen plant in shaded spot in the garden.

Podophyllum Spotty DottyPodophllum x Spotty Dotty is an exotic hybrid related to May Apple. The Upright stems appear in Spring, bearing hugh, unbrella shaped, green-chocolate blotched leaves. At maturity "Spotty Dotty" plants produce deep garnet-red flowers and fleshy fruits. Definitely a woodland garden species, best in rich moist soils.
