Yamina Rare Plants

Yamina Rare Plants has been made aware of a biosecurity detection of Tomato Potato Psyllid (TPP) in Victoria. This pest affects plants in the Solanaceae family — including tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, capsicums, chillies, brugmansia, lycium, tamarillo, cestrum nocturnum, brunfelsia, Solandra, iochroma and related species — by feeding on plant sap and potentially spreading harmful bacteria that can cause serious crop damage.

As a precautionary measure and in line with Agriculture Victoria’s biosecurity guidelines, we have temporarily paused the movement and dispatch of all Solanaceae plants from Victoria. This step is essential to prevent the potential spread of TPP and to protect gardens, growers, and Australia’s horticultural industry.
