Description

This deciduous climbing Gooseberry species, known as Actinidia kolmikta, can be found in Far East Russia, China, Korea, and Japan. It is a male form with stunning variegated foliage, resembling an artist's palette with splashes of white, pink, and green.(variegated foliage take time to show). The fruit is similar to A. arguta but smaller in size, and the plant itself can ultimately reach a height of 8–10 m. Despite its delicate appearance, this species is remarkably hardy in the cold, surviving down to about −40 °C. Commonly referred to as variegated kiwi vine, miyamatatabi, super-hardy kiwi, or variegated-leaf hardy kiwi, it belongs to the family Actinidiaceae.
