Description
Camellia oleifera is very similar to Camellia Sasanqua. It is possible both species originated from a common ancestor. This species has been used by the Chinese for hundreds of years as a source of cooking oil. Many medium sized camellia seeds during spring and summer, and it is from these that the oil is extracted. The ‘tea-oil’ is a thin, clear liquid used for cooking and in manufacturing.Sun to part shade.
