Description
(Maidenhair Tree) Unique species of tree, with no living relatives. Various uses in tradional medicine as food. Large trees reaching 20 - 35 metres in height. A combination of resistance to disease, insect-resistant wood and the ability to form aerial roots and sprouts makes ginkgos long-lived, with some specimens claimed to be more than 2,500years old. Ginkgo biloba has many medicinal/herbal uses, and is the brightest gold Autumn coloured tree.
