Description
A quite unfair common name for a really wonderful plant, “stinking hellebore” also /?h?l?b??r/, dungwort, setterwort and bear's foot ... A wonderful compact, evergreen perennial with more finely divided foliage than hellebores generally have. In spring the foliage in ferny green clumps, is accompanied by clusters of nodding, lime-green flowers on thick stems atop the foliage. Long lasting flowers , often for several months. A beautiful spring flowering show , enjoying dappled shade and Limestone soils.
