White Christmas...The species known as black poui, or as the fern tree. Flowers emerging around Christmas onwards, just on time as name suggests. Rare white flowered form of this well known tree, flowers en mass Pure White flower heads. A beautiful fast growing deciduous tree, Jacaranda mimosifolia is a sub-tropical tree native to south-central South America. Jacaranda White flowered form is a pure and Snow White colour , we call it White Christmas here. Its name is Jacaranda mimosifolia alba and this rare species was first introduced into Australia in 1960 by George Hewitt , a well known plant tragic doctor from Bellingen, NSW.
