Totara ( Lowland Totara ) .Podocarpus totara . A native Evergreen Gondwana conifer ( 20-25 metres slowly ) from New Zealand , recorded up to 35 metres tall .A shade tree bearing dark green, dense, glossy foliage .We also have a golden form podocarpus totara aurea .Endemic New Zealand ; North Island & northeastern South Island in lowland, montane and lower subalpine forest up to 600 metres.
