Description
One of the most attractive Evergreen Oaks and still a new comer for Australian a Gardeners. Hugely more attractive than Holm and Cork oaks for the average garden , which is quite a call considering how much I like both of these oaks. The new growth is Reddish-Purple on the amazing unique leathery corrugated leaves , which contrasts wonderfully with the glossy green of mature foliage. A handsome tree to 10 metres in garden situations although known to grow to 20 metres by 8 metres in the wild in very old stands. As an evergreen specimen it is all class and for screening it could become a wonderful backdrop.
