Description
A quality evergreen large shrub reaching 3-4 metres. Introduced from central China by plant hunter Wilson in 1900 , for Veitch & Son in England. Makes excellent mass landscape planting or accent garden background screen. Features long , veined wrinkled, evergreen dark foliage with grey reverse. Flower buds, petiole and new growth have a rusty-red hairiness. Flowers sit above the branches in creamy-white spring clusters. The oval fruit is red maturing black.
